• General • Hemp is one of the oldest, most versatile and undemanding crop plants of humankind. Ropes and Sails were made from it. The Gutenberg Bible was first printed on hemp paper. Hemp serves as clothing, for furniture manufacturing, as animal bedding. Even today hemp could be used in paper industry with much less chemical pollution. Admixture of hemp fiber would increase the quality of recycled paper. In textile industry and hospital supply hemp could replace cotton polluted with pesticides. A more modern use is the admixture of hemp fibers to plastics (bio-plastic) and building materials. Hemp is even used in the interior of Mercedes and BMW cars.

The cultivation of hemp is sustainable and easy on the environment. Even with hemp monocultures the soil is not depleted. Because if its soil improving roots hemp can be used on the same field before other crops and increase their output. Because industrial hemp needs little fertilizer and no pesticides it is an ecological relief on soil and ground water resources. Bees and insects may live. The astonishing size and its production of bio mass recommends hemp as a plant for methane energy production.

Today’s industrial hemp is considered drug free. Due to cultivation efforts the THC content is so low that a psychotropic high is impossible. Therefore human consumption is harmless and legal in the European Union (0.2% THC) as well as in the USA (0.3% THC). The low drug content and the invention to press juice from hemp makes all the good ingredients available Cannabis Sativa has for humans and animals. Next to all essential proteins, lots of minerals and vitamins as well as polyphenols cannabinoids are unique hemp / Cannabis. • General • Hanf ist eine der ältesten, vielseitigsten und anspruchlosesten Nutzpflanzen der Menschheit. Seile und Segel wurden daraus gefertigt, die Gutenberg-Bibel wurde auf Hanfpapier gedruckt. Hanf dient als Bekleidung, zur Möbelherstellung, als Tierstreu. Auch heute könnte Hanf für eine weniger mit Chemikalien belastete Papierindustrie genutzt werden. Beimischungen von Hanffasern und Schäben verbessern außerdem die Qualität von recyceltem Papier. Für die Textilindustrie und den Krankenhausbedarf kann der Hanf die pestizidintensive Baumwolle ersetzen. Eine moderne Nutzung ist die Beimischung zu Kunststoffen und Baustoffen sowie die Anwendung im Inneren von Autos.

Der Hanfanbau ist nachhaltig und umweltschonend. Selbst Hanf-Monokulturen verarmen die Böden nicht. Wegen seiner Boden verbessernden Wurzeln kann der Hanf als Zweitfrucht vor oder nach anderen Ackerfrüchten auf demselben Feld angebaut werden. Da der Hanf kaum Dünger und keine Pestizide benötigt, wird eine Entlastung der Böden und des Grundwassers erreicht. Bienen und Insekten können leben. Seine enorme Wuchshöhe und damit die hohe Produktion von Biomasse empfiehlt den Hanf auch als Energiepflanze.

Heutiger Nutzhanf gilt als drogenfrei. Sein THC Anteil ist durch Züchtung soweit erniedrigt, dass er kein berauschendes High erzeugt. Dadurch ist der Konsum für Menschen unbedenklich und legal möglich, sowohl in Europa (0,2% THC) als auch in den USA (0.3% THC). Der niedrige THC Gehalt und die Erfindung, Saft aus Hanf zu pressen, ermöglichen eine umfassende Nutzung aller guten Inhaltsstoffe von Cannabis Sativa für Mensch und Tier.
